Venturi Flow Meters

Amity Flow specializes in the design, engineering and production of Venturi Meters. After 38 years of manufacturing for the trade, Amity Flow now services customers directly.

Amity Venturi Meters were developed based on R.W. Miller designs and Dr. Miller's over 40 years of flow meter experience.(Author Flow Measurement Engineering Handbook)

custom Venturi meter design

  • We have the unique ability to control the entire fabrication process start to finish which allows for repeatability: our flow meter designs match our products.
  • Our products are built to such tight tolerances, we can consistently surpass both ASME and individual design standards for uncalibrated results between .15% and .25%
  • In 2008, we formed a partnership with R.W. Miller PhD, PE, the leading industry flow engineer, to design the most efficient Venturi meters and continually push the model to create new and improved products.
  • We have manufactured and sold Venturies tubes for over 38 years under other labels, and we are in the unique position of supplying our Venturi flow meters to our competitors.
  • Our proprietary knowledge includes:
    • The first new Venturi meter design in 30 years
    • Industry lead in consistent uncalibrated results
    • New designs for eccentric and bi-directional meters
  • Custom venturi meter design is available employing our proprietary Computational Module, developed with R.W. Miller.
  • Amity Flow also manufactures most major designs using the same Amity Computation Model including the ASME PTC-6, ASME Standard Venturi, and ASME Flow Nozzles.
  • The venturi flow meter or venturi tube is suitable for clean, dirty and viscous liquid and some slurry services. A Venturi meter has no protrusions or sharp edges exposed to the flow thereby making it useful in accurate flow measurement of any fluid containing suspended solids. For particularly dense slurries our segemental e-wedge meter is the new indusry preference.
  • Rangeability is 4 to 1
  • Pressure loss is low
  • Typical accuracy is 1% of full range
  • Required upstream pipe length 5 to 20 diameters
  • Viscosity effect is high
  • Relative cost is medium
